新作『光がここにあった』
赤い観音様さまは《光がここにあった》という題名です。
この作品は、
自身が日頃から仏の教えを聞かせていただき、
感動したことを
作品にしています。
日頃、自身は良し悪しで人を図り
見捨てたり差別したりしながら
普通に過ごしてしているな、と反省しています。
自分でも汚い生き方をしていると
感じながら生活しています。
そんな自分にも
仏さまが
常に光を私たちに
照らしてくださっていて
闇の大きな問題も見えなかった自分に
光でものが見えて
闇の中にいたことに気づいた。
という生き方の転換を
作品にしました。
《仏の光》というあたたかい
願いを込めて制作しました。
赤い色や緑などの着色は汚い汚い煩悩
汚れた手は救いの手を表しており、
体からは光が照らします。
作品は観音様、
人々を苦しみから救う慈悲深い仏様です。
私自身、僧侶ですが、
相応しい生き方が出来ているか
未だ未熟者であり、もっと親鸞聖人のように
生活の中から学んでいきたいと思っています。
慈悲の温かい手や心を作品から
感じていただけたら誠に幸いです

New Work: ‘The Light Was Here’
The red Kannon statue is titled ‘The Light Was Here’.
This work embodies
the profound emotions I felt
upon hearing the Buddha's teachings
in my daily life.
I reflect on how I usually judge people by good or bad,
discarding or discriminating against them,
yet go about my life as if nothing is wrong.
I live feeling that my own way of life is impure.
Yet even for someone like me,
the Buddha constantly shines light upon us.
Through that light, I saw things I couldn't perceive in the darkness—
realizing I had been shrouded in darkness all along.
This work embodies that transformation in my way of life.
I created it with the warm wish
of “Buddha's Light.”
The red and green coloring symbolize impure, defiled desires.
The soiled hands represent hands reaching for salvation,
while light radiates from the body.
The work depicts Kannon,
the compassionate Buddha who saves people from suffering.
Though I am a monk myself,
I remain an immature person,
questioning whether I live appropriately.
I wish to learn more from daily life,
following the example of Saint Shinran.
I would be truly grateful
if you could feel the warm hands and heart of compassion
through this work.
The light represents the Buddha's light
and illuminates in three patterns.
